Better Bangladesh Foundation-BBF NRBs Summit 2020 ends

Engagement of NRBs towards digital, sustainable and inclusive Development during and post Global Covid 19 situation : Strategies and the way forward
One of the pivotal factors of the successes of Bangladesh is the direct and indirect contribution of NRBs. Because of their relentless hard work Bangladesh has become one of the major remittance recipient countries in the world. Bangladesh received its highest-ever annual remittance of about US$14.5bn in the just out fiscal year as expatriate Bangladeshis sent home hard-earned money.
Collectively or individually, diaspora community can use their finance,time and intellectual resources for poverty eradication, private sector expansion, enhancing global competitiveness and the overall development of the country.
The size of Bangladeshi diaspora is large and it has been growing in last few decades.
Diasporas are those who are permanently residing in different countries with maintaining some sort of ties with the country of origin.
The digital event was participated by Ministries and Government Departments, Investment Promotion Agencies, Special Economic Zones, Private Equities, Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists, Startups, Incubators, SME Financing Institutions, Smart City Solution Providers, and Technology Providers, among others, from more than 25 countries.
Mr. M.A. Mannan, MP, Honorable Minister of Planning, GoB has graced the Virtual SUMMIT as the Chief Guest while the event was chaired by Col. Muhammad Faruk Khan, MP, Honorable Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Presidium Member of Bangladesh Awami League and Chief Advisor of BBF. The Keynote Paper was presented by Dr. Atiur Rahman, Former Governor of Bangladesh Bank and Advisor of BBF and the program was moderated by Prof. Masud A. Khan, Chairman and CEO of BBF and Chairman of BBF-Global. Mr. Sirazul Islam, Executive Chairman of BIDA, Dr. Munirus Saleheen , Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriates and overseas welfare , Mr. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Bangladesh Ambassador to Germany, Mr. Shameem Ahsan, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nigeria were present as Guests of Honor.
Admiral Auranzeb Chowdhury, immediate past Chief of Naval Staff , Engineer Ghulam M Alomgir, Chairman of Max Group and an NRB, Dr. Rashed Noman , President of Bangladesh Forum Qatar , Mr. Mr. Mohammad Nurul Mostafa , Chairman of Brand Group Dhaka have attended as distinguished speakers. Besides that BBF Global Representatives from different countries participated and contributed at Global Virtual Summit!

Khan , the organized of the summit added that BBF has been working relentlessly and passionately for more than 10 years for Branding Bangladesh at home and abroad. Through BBF Global network, we are trying to highlight the Strengths and ample opportunities in Bangladesh to gather and establish well deserved attention from the international audience and the communities. We are working to expand our horizon and accelerate the development momentum of Bangladesh collectively by aligning and presenting the Global NRB talents to the Government of Bangladesh.
The Chief Guest Planning Minister M. A. Mannan has assured all possible support from his Government and he appreciated Better Bangladesh Foundation and it’s Founder Masud A. Khan and his Global team for organizing such a timely event.
Mr. Muhammad Faruk Khan , MP has said that it’s a timely initiative taken up by BBF and he suggested BBF Chairman to write a summary note of the Meeting and submit to the concern authorities and he assured to provide all sorts of support from his government. The BIDA Chairman Sirazul Islam said that BIDA is acting as support agency not as act like “Authority” even it names like that ! Expatriates Welfare Secretary MR. Saleheen said , his office is always ready to support the NRBs any welfare issues!

On the above note, BBF organised a WEBINAR on BBF NRBs Virtual Summit 2020 was held on 04th of October at 8:00 Pm to 10:00 PM Dhaka time and 10:00 am to 12noon New York Time on Zoom Platform.
