Work hard to make investment atmosphere more attractive, PM asks BIDA

On the above note , BBF has successfully organised series of conferences and seminars on FDI with BBF Global leaders ! BBF is working closely with BIDA to Attract Foreign Investment !

Webinar Conference on Foreign Investment between BIDA and BBF Global Leaders held  On 9th of August 2020 !

Better Bangladesh Foundation in partnership with BBF Global concluded a webinar on Attracting Investment & Trade in Bangladesh Chaired and moderated by its Chairman and Founder Professor Masud A. Khan and he has mentioned about Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Directives for BIDA officials how to attract foreign investors in Bangladesh as here prevailing a congenial atmosphere . BBF Global leaders can support BIDA broadly in this regards!

The session was hosted online on Sunday, August 09 at 8pm Bangladesh Standard Time and was attended by Mr. Md. Sirazul Islam, Executive Chairman, BIDA, Chief Guest along with esteemed Guest of Honors which included Goodwill Ambassadors to BBF and Renowned Actors Ferdous Ahmed & Riaz Ahmed & Editor in Chief of GTV, Syed Ishtiaque Reza& Dr. Atiur Rahman – Former Governor, Bangladesh Bank, Former High Commissioner Admiral ASMA Awal.

Bangladeshi business leaders both from home and abroad attended the conference to share their thoughts on the best opportunities to attract foreign investment in Bangladesh while collaborating with our extensive NRB community.

Rohema Miah, a political advisor to the Labour Party in the UK, commented that there is not enough transparency on information when it comes to business laws, finance, repatriation and taxation for FDI in Bangladesh and added that it was an area where BBF can bridge the gap in partnership with BIDA.

Ferdous Ahmed commented on focusing on cultural events such as PahelaBoishakh as a means of promoting tourism and to brand Bangladesh. Apart from that, both he and Riaz Ahmed added that post production industry in Bangladesh had excellent growth potential due to a technically competent and competitive labor force.

Mr. Babul from Tanzania observed the cultural similarities between East Africa and Bangladesh, and how our brand of film making could go a long way with the African audience.

Dr. Atiur Rahman commented on the potential of Bangladesh’s demographic dividend specially in the outsourcing arena and how policy makers need to create a more hospitable environment to enable the growth of this industry.

The Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Md. Sirazul Islam addressed everyone’s remarks and announced that BIDA will be updating its guide to Foreign Investment in Bangladesh with in-depth industrial profiles of over 20 sectors as a downloadable resource within the next 3 weeks.

This guide will be distributed to all foreign embassies and attaches to create an informed ecosystem to drive foreign investment decision making. The guide will serve as an effective framework for local and international business owners & investors and help drive more foreign investment into the country.

The webinar was very successful in presence of BIDA Executive Member Nabhash Chandra Mondal, BIDA Director of FM , BBF Global USA Chief Coordinator Mr. Rafiq Khan, BBF Global USA Advisor Sazzad Rashid, BBF Global USA Coordinator Deloar Khan, BBF Malaysia Chief Coordinator Mahbub Alam Shah, BBF Germany Chief Coordinator Abbas Chowdhury, BBF Qatar Chief Coordinator Ashraf Azad, BBF Canada Chief Coordinator Hasan Sunjari, BBF Tanzania Chief Coordinator Mr. Babul , UK Chief Coordinator Rohema Miah and BBF Dhaka international Coordinator Agriculturist Rtn. Parvin Sultana. All BBF Global leaders have given their thoughtful opinions and highlighted how BBF and BIDA can work together closely to attract foreign investment to tackle the Covid 19 situation!
