A team of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested two alleged members of an online gambling ring at Dakkhinkhan in Dhaka on Tuesday.

The arrested are Shakil Khan, 22, and Jubaid Hossain Rochi, 32, of the area, said a DMP press release.

The team seized two laptops, eight cell phones, 21 SIM cards, and cash TK 98,000 from their possession.

The duo was members of an online gambling platform titled Binary. The platform used various applications named Binarys, Profit Iq, and Binary Go App. The online gambling ring used social media and youtube channels, and swindled around Tk 13 crore from different people, said the press release.

The raid was conducted by Demra Zonal Team leader Azharul Islam Mukul, additional deputy police commissioner, under the supervision of Mohammad Abdul Ahad, deputy police commissioner of DMP detective and crimes division.
