Renowned haematologist and laboratory medicine specialist Prof Col (Retd) Dr Md Moniruzzaman has died from coronavirus infection.

He breathed his last around 5:30pm at his Mirpur DOHS residence in Dhaka on Sunday, Bangla Tribune reported, quoting the Foundation for Doctors’ Safety, Rights and Responsibilities (FDSR) on Monday.

Dr Moniruzzaman was the chief haematologist at Anwer Khan Modern Medical College Hospital (AKMMCH).
