Eminent singer Subir Nandi, who has been undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka with cardiac problems for two weeks, was taken to Singapore for better treatment.
An air ambulance, carrying the noted singer, left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka for Singapore around 10:45am on Tuesday (April 30), Tripti Kor, a close relative of Subir Nandi, told Banglanews.
She said, “Subir Nandi was supposed to take Singapore to Singapore on Monday (April 29) night. But there was a technical glitch in the air ambulance prior to departure of the flight. Then, he was kept in the CMH again from the airport.
Today, he was taken to Singapore by a new air ambulance. Mou, daughter of Subir Nandi, is accompanying her father, she added.
As per Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s directive, Subir Nandi has been taken to Singapore.
The Ekushey Padak winner singer has been kept at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) since Sunday (April 14).
PM Hasina is inquiring always about update of his health condition and his treatment.
“His condition is critical. Physicians have kept him under intensive observation,” Subir Nandi’s daughter Falguni Nandi told Banglanews.
The 66-year-old singer has been suffering from kidney problems for long. He underwent dialysis on regular basis.
The ‘Din Jaay Katha Thake’ singer served for more than four decades to the country’s music industry.
The veteran was awarded with prestigious Ekushey Padak this year.
